I'm Micca, a dietitian (if I have to give a fancy title!), but more importantly, I am also a diet culture dropout. Chances are, if you are peeping my page, you too, have struggled with rigid eating rules and are just plain tired.
I went on my first diet in grade school and by the time I reached my adult years, I had developed a "start on Monday", "good food/bad food" philosophy. I felt victorious when I had "willpower" (which I don't believe is even a real thing, by the way) and lived and breathed to be a certain clothing size. I ate all the "right" foods and followed the "rules" during the day, to later find myself eating the foods that I truly wanted at night.
Enter my professional years, I was DONE (and I mean DONE!) with rigid eating prescriptions and not eating the foods that I loved. I am wondering if you might be at this place too.
In my 20+ years of practice, I have been teaching people how to drop the restrictive food rules through the combined practices of mindful and intuitive eating. I help women crush their food fears and start living by food facts to bring all foods back to their table again without counting calories.
Born and raised in Illinois, I now call North Carolina home. When I'm not working to crush the diet world, I love drinking coffee, dancing, baking (I love to decorate cupcakes!!), spending time with my loved ones, traveling, adorning myself with tattoos, and decorating!
